Chip budding
In this technique the scion is reduced to a very small size, containing one bud. A 45o cut is made to about a quarter of the distance through the rootstock. About 2-5cm above the first cut a second downward and inward cut is made until it meets the first cut. A piece of similar size and shape is cut from the scion wood and lifted and inserted onto the patch in the root stock. The graft is wrapped with grafting tape.
